Rhonda SG Ah! Considering a seachange! Smart move! That's what I did when I quit my corporate job. I knew then that I wanted to leave the country and work in a more altruistic job. Tough to make that change, but it's been really worthwhile! Do you like to help people? Do you have a science background? Some occupations earn top migration points in Australia.
elindra SG I failed my science for 'O' levels E8 Was talking to ShrodingersCat and considering a career change as a teacher for children with learning disabilities. She adv me to volunteer with MINDS first to see if I can cope with the change. I think it's a good idea too coz I have no patience with brats but patient when it comes to special children
fudgester SG Anyway, I feel like cleaning my room. Too much time on my hands, and I feel that I ought to be doing something worthwhile - like cleaning out the underside of my bed. Seeya guys later. *me mysteriously disappears in a puff of smoke*
stellazio SG nah, already got a few xiao di di here, no point become one of em. i rather remain and be remembered for being evil.
elindra SG I will feel like slapping them And the other consideration is the pay too I have not found out the pay for a pre-school teacher but last I heard from VK was like $800!!!!! It's not even enough to cover my loans and bills!
stellazio SG oh, i prefer to work with troubled kids. like those sch dropouts, those that joins gang at a young age and stuff like that.
stellazio SG in singapore, the elites don't give a damn bout those that are left behind or the people that will try to help them.
Rhonda SG Well, it's a polite cliche to say. Cause I don't want si gina to write in his blog entry that Rhonda Missy said he has no hope, goodbye cruel world, then commit suicide. Darn, I'll lose my licence then! So, better to say the polite thing!
elindra SG Yeah But the pay for working with kids with special needs are better Around $1800 starting pay It's a paycut but I can accept it though painful $800 pay is like cutting off my legs and arms
Rhonda SG Actually, in Singapore, meaningful jobs that help others but don't reap in the big profits are not receiving the remuneration they deserve. Look at what our policemen, firemen, nurses, teachers, child care workers, social workers are paid!
viciouskitty74 SG burp.... i was at the kitchen washing up. Then made myself a bowl of avacado milk cream. a bowl....its because the avacados are going soft so i dont want to waste them. So I blended 2 ripe avacado with some milk. Dig it out from the blender into a bowl. Throw in dollaps of honey (Didnt add enough sugar just now.) and a major sploshing of kahlua liqour. And came back to read about fuge being a nice malay boy. I kinda think he is too skinny. never tot about much about him. I dont deal well with skinny guys. Even with the skinny the_bear.
the Bear SG mmmm... murtabak.. my office is walking distance from ZamZam which the cult leader doesn't know exist but today, after i bought soup from Soup Spoon for ill friend at work, he wants to go there again very funny yesterday... he opened up the container of soup... "simi * @ lai eh?" "chiak lah!! &*^$#" "mmm.. *&$^# hoh chiak! liao *&$^# chuae" (okay.. we swear a lot when speaking )
